I was born in Masindi, Uganda. I still call it home. I try to split my time between Washington, DC (my office) and Uganda (home) as much as possible during the year.
I think AiD fills a big gaping hole in Diaspora philanthropy and investment. There has not been a successfully targeted solution to tap into $40 billion in remittances flowing to the continent. I am especially attracted to AiD, because it is conceived, and driven by a member of the Diaspora. I think this kind of initiative needs someone with intimate knowledge of what the needs of the Diaspora are. And I am thrilled to be on board as a supporter.
